About 700 bird species have been identified in Europe.

Europe is the worlds second smallest continent covering about 2% of the Earth's surface...about 6.8% of its land area.

It includes approx. 50 countries with about 733 million people...about 11% of the world's population.

Climate is mainly temperate being milder than other areas of the same latitude due mainly to the Gulf Stream.
