Birds of Thailand

ไก่งามเพราะขน คนงามเพราะแต่ง

Things to like about our Thailand tour.

Friendly, warm people everywhere.

Captain Mike, our steady, unflappable tour manager.

Team leader Dion, an expert in birds... and mammals...reptiles...bugs...butterflies... flowers...and trees.

Our drivers Parnelli (Jherd) Jones and Mario (Rat) Andretti.

Roadside meals...breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks served with a big smile.

Afternoon siestas to recover from many very early mornings.

Singha beers at the end of the day.

Thailand is the 51st largest country but is 20th in population with around 66 million people.

Mountains to the north, flat river valley in the center, and the narrow Malay Peninsula to the south.

Approx. 1000 bird species have been recorded.

An estimated 159 resident and 23 migratory bird species were listed as endangered or vulnerable in 1991.

The Siamese Fireback is the national bird and the elephant is the national symbol.
