Birds of Kenya

Kenya has has aprox.1130 bird species... considerably more than all of North America.

It lies on the equator and is about 84% the size of Texas with 44 million people. English and Swahili are the official languages and several local tribal languages are also spoken.

The climate is warm and humid along its Indian Ocean coast and around Lake Victoria, is temperate in the hilly western region and arid to near desert in the northeast.

The Masai Mara is a large wildlife reserve continuous with the Serengeti National Park of Tanzania.

The Great Rift Valley runs north-south through Kenya and contains a series of volcanoes and several lakes.

We have not inherited this land from our ancestors; rather we have borrowed it from our children.
