Java Sparrow
Native of Java and Bali, where it is now
decreasing and rare...introduced to
Hawaii in 1867 and again in 1960.
Padda oryzivora
(L 6.3" WS 8.5")
His ancestral home is Java out by the
Java sea
And though born in cage his instincts
tell him that he should live free
And unlike budgerigar and canary
who tame quite easily
The shy sparrow of Java pine in
captivity.
