               Now placed in the tyrant flycatcher family,
               Tityridae..in northern So. America east of
               the Andes...usually  in pairs.
          
         
         
         
            
               Tityra refers to Tityrus, a character
               from the ancient Roman poet Virgil;
               cayana refers to Cayenne, a city in
               French Guinea.
          
         
            
               Tityra: genus with three species, of the
               American tropics, having gray, black,
               and white plumage and large swollen
               bills, and now classified with the
