Became extinct in the wild in 1987
due to poaching, lead poisoning, and
habitat destruction....has been
reintroduced to northern Arizona
and southern Utah, the coastal
mountains of central and southern
California, and northern Baja
California.
More than a dozen critically
endangered California Condors
recently died from the H5N1 virus.
